Inebolu
| |
Inebolu, the ancient Greek Ionopolis (Ιωνόπολις), is an industrial harbor. The harbor is ugly, with several ships loading coal. Yet, its water is much cleaner than the water in Samsun. And most importantly there is no smell! The town is much more attractive than most of the towns between Samsun and Trabzon. It is fairly nice and it has a more-or-less clean beach and many old and interesting buildings.

You can anchor off anywhere within the harbor as long as you do not impede the comercial traffic. Anchor in 5 m depth, good holding, but let out plenty of chain, at least 40 m, to counteract the strong swell. The bottom is mud and you will have to spend sometime cleaning the chain before departing.
Warning: There is a very strong swell entering from the E into the harbor.
Caylioglu
Çaylioğlu is a medium sized very quiet and attractive harbour about 35 nm east of Inebolu. Other than a dozen or so small and very small fishing boats there is no other boats in the harbour. It provides very good all weather shelter. The harbour is a popular swimming place for locals with around 20 to 30 people on a busy day.
Anchor in the middle of the harbor.
Scattered on the hillsides there are around 50 houses overlooking the harbour. There are no shops. Many of the houses are derelict and unused. There is village about 2 km inland but there are no stores there. ChartletMarinas & Yacht Clubs
