There is also a white tower on the south end of the harbour wall which is lit with the characteristics of 4 flashes every 10 seconds. Keep south of this light when approaching to avoid the rocks to the east of the harbour. From the same location there is a sectored fixed red light which marks the rocks - keep out of the red sector. Once south east of the light pick up the leading line marked by two diamonds bearing 324 (lit fixed blue at night) to enter the harbour. | |

Blyth is the home of the Royal Northumberland Yacht Club (RNYC). It is situated approximately 7nm north of the River Tyne and normally offers all tide access (but seas beak in the entrance in strong SE winds at low water).

Blyth can be identified by the two large wind turbines east of the harbour and multiple smaller turbines on the east harbour wall. There is also a white tower on the south end of the harbour wall which is lit with the characteristics of 4 flashes every 10 seconds. Keep south of this light when approaching to avoid the rocks to the east of the harbour. From the same location there is a sectored fixed red light which marks the rocks - keep out of the red sector.
