Special Florida State Boating Bylaws or Restrictions

Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission, Recreational Licenses and Permits
The Legal Requirements of Boating To operate a vessel powered by a motor of 10 horsepower or greater (including PWCs), a person who was born on or after January 1, 1988, must have completed a boater education course approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) or passed an approved equivalency exam.
Florida Online Boating Safety Course and Exam (1) This boat safety course is user-friendly and self-directed. Study at your own pace; (2) Take the official Florida boating safety Certification Exam. Pay $29.50—one time only, after you pass; (3) When you pass, you will receive your permanent Florida Boating Safety Education I.D. Card by mail.
