The approach is simple with no obvious dangers. The marina lies beside the ferry terminal on the western side.
Check-in facilities (for Customs and Immigration)
Yachts are met by a marina launch and guided to a berth. The marina office staff are friendly and helpful and speak English.
Offshore Islands and Groups
The Princes Islands are about 10 miles to the north. Heybeliada is the second largest and has a pleasant port on the north coast with limited mooring and a large popular anchorage on the south side. It can be very busy at weekends with boats from nearby Istanbul.
Marinas & Yacht Clubs
Setur Marina Yalova 40° 39,707’ N - 029° 16,440’ E
The marina is in a pleasant location and provides good shelter and security. The road entrance has 24 hour guard and the pontoons are secured by card-operated gates. Pontoons are tidy and clean and monitored. WC/shower block is excellent - clean, smart and very good large individual shower rooms.
Anchorages
The best anchorages in the area are at the Princes Islands.
Yacht Repairs and Services
Marine Stores
A marine store/chandlery is in the marina, beside the hardstanding area.
Repairs/Yards
A large hardstanding area exists on the western side of the marina, with an expertly-handled 80 tonne travel lift. There are several repair firms being set up in the marina, who are mostly concerned with maintaining local boats. High quality repairs in teak and mahogany can be carried out here. only limited English spoken. Further repair services can be carried out or managed by an Englishman who has lived in Turkey for the last 20 years, and operates from the hardstanding area of the marina.
Fuel, Water, & Electricity
- Fuel
Fuel was not available in early summer 2012, but a delivery tanker could be ordered.
- Water
Water is available on the pontoons and is purchased using a card system
- Electricity
Electricity also on the pontoons, using a card system managed by the marina office.
Things to do Ashore
Tourism
Limited tourism as yet, but the old city of Bursa is close by with frequent coaches from the bus station beside the marina.
Grocery & Supply Stores
Plenty of supplies in town just across the road from the marina. An excellent hypermarket (Ozdelik) is a short bus (dolmus) ride to the north. Ozdelik also has an excellent restaurant.
Eateries
Lots of places to eat in town. Within the marina, there is a smart fish restaurant, a Lavazza cafe has cakes and coffee, the Marina Brasserie and Tike bar which has an interesting menu and is quite lively.
Internet/WiFi
The marina has no wifi as yet (Summer 2012), but the marina-based Lavazza cafe, Tike bar and the Brasserie all have wifi. Some of the cafes in the town have wifi.
Laundry
Two coin-operated washing/drying machines in the marina, now with instructions in English.
Motorbike & Car Rentals
Car rentals in town.
Garbage Disposal
Garbage disposal available in the marina along with some attempt to recycle.
Transportation
An excellent ferry service operates between Yalova and Istanbul, with ferries to Pendik (35 min) and Yenikapi (1 hour 15 minutes). Pendik is a short taxi ride (15 minutes) from Sabiha Gökçen International Airport and Yenikapi to Istanbul airport takes about 35 minutes.
Routes/Passages To/From
The large marinas (Fenerbahce & Kalamis) close to Istanbul are about 25 miles to the north.
