San Nicola L'Arena is a small fishing village and tourist resort 18 miles SE of Palermo in Sicily. Developed around the 16th century castle of St Nicholas and the church of the same name, its purpose-built harbour offers berths for up to 800 vessels on 14 pontoons. It offers a secure alternative to Palermo for cruisers wishing to leave their boats to explore the hinterland of the island.
