Large areas in the vicinity of Puerto Aguirre are unsurveyed. Care should be exercised if venturing into unsurveyed areas.
Contact 'Puerto Aguirre Radio' on Ch 16 one hour before your ETA. After arrival you should attend the Capitánia which is situated at the foot of the town wharf. They may issue you with a new Zarpe.

There are a number of small supermercados in the town. There is a post office.

There are a few bars and small restaurants.
Transportation
There is an airfield on the island and the ferry 'Don Baldo' calls at the port several times a week and links it with Chacabuco and Isla Grande de Chiloe.

The town has limited attractions and is not high on my list of 'must return' ports.It is however the first chance to 'store ship' when coming from the south. --Frank
