Tourism and Things to do Ashore
Tourism
You can hike from here to the Samaria Gorge. It is possible to walk up the Samaria Gorge and back down it again in the same day with a very early start. I have done it but it's recommended only for fit and experienced walkers!
The small town has many bars and tavernas and several guest houses and hotels. But once the downward gorge-walking tourists have left on the last ferry the place becomes extremely quiet.
Grocery & Supply Stores
Some basic shopping.
Eateries
Several attractive tavernas.
