Off the coast of Perak state, lies a cluster of small islands with Pangkor Island being the main Historical landmark island, unquestionably for the locals have some of the best beaches on the western coast of peninsular Malaysia.

ACCESS TO PANGKOR ISLAND
Located about 90km south west from lpoh and reachable by ferries:
1. from Marina Island Pangkor via Bridge Access in only 10 minutes
2. and Lumut in only 35 -45 mins.
DEMOGRAPHICS
Pangkor Island is 8 square km big and inhabited by circa 25 thousand people, mainly fishermen and local tourist operators.
They live in scattered fishing settlements, especially on the eastern coast, and their catch consists mainly of cuttlefish and anchovy.
Pangkor is intensively promoted as a budget tourist destinations for backpackers, however it’s still fishing and dried seafood to be the main industry is to be replaced slowly with hoteliers and tourism operators.
