There are a couple inlets close the small settlement of Dragone uphill. They located in approx. two miles SSE of the harbour of Bozava on the NE coast of the island of Dugi Otok in Croatia, and 14 miles due W from Zadar.
In the N inlet there is a quay which can be used by a visiting yacht and offers good shelter in all but strong N winds.
In 500 metres to the W there is another inlet with an abandoned submarine pen -- a former naval dock -- which can be visited on foot or by tender. On SE of the village in another inlet there is another one.

Weather
Diurnal winds among the islands are mostly moderate during the summer months, predominantly from NW and rarely exceeding force 4/5, although gusting is common in narrow channels between islands and on the lee side of headlands. At night, katabatic winds off the mountains affect some of the islands close to the mainland coast. During early spring and (especially) autumn conditions can be more unsettled, occasionally accompanied by violent thunderstorms - luckily of short duration - with winds of 30-35 knots or more and vicious, steep seas. In the winter the sudden, violent N wind off the mountains, the bora, is much to be feared, especially along the coast from Rijeka down to Zadar, although its effects can be felt as far south as Split.
Equally prevalent in winter - although not uncommon in summer - is the scirocco, a S/SE wind that blows up from North Africa, usually in advance of a depression moving E across the Mediterranean. Unlike the bora, the scirocco only occasionally exceeds gale force, but is still a phenomenon to be wary of, especially if on a lee coast.

Berthing
There are some houses and quay at the u. Dumboka.
- Quay at u. Dumboka Quay at u. Dumboka 44°07.177'N, 014°56.068'E Visiting yachts moor alongside the quay on the SW side of this arm. Depths here are 6.0 - 8.0 metres. Shelter here is good in all but strong N or NW winds, when Bozava offers better shelter. There are no facilities there.
Alternatively it is possible to moor at the quays right at the entrances at both of the submarine pens. Note: Generally each of them could accommodate a couple of yachts, but beware if you find some sunk boats there. Also someone had reported of rats there.
- u. Paprenica, submarine pen u. Paprenica, submarine pen 44°07.191'N, 014°55.744'E 500 m W of u. Dumboka.
- u. Bukašin, submarine pen u. Bukašin, submarine pen 44°07.191'N, 014°55.744'E at the W side of the inlet.
Anchorages
It is possible to anchor off the village or off the entrance to the ‘submarine pen’ if visiting it. Depths, however, are in excess of 12 metres and it is best used as a day anchorage only.
