The town of Tribunj lies on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, six miles NW of Sibenik and just over a mile W of Vodice. Like many towns along this coast, it was built on a narrow and easily defended peninsula in the 16th century to provide protection against Turkish incursions. Originally walled, the village is today connected to the mainland by a narrow stone bridge. The town has always been an important fishing centre, but this is slowly being overtaken by tourism, especially with the construction of the Adriatiq Islands Group marina to the east of the peninsula in 2004. Marina Tribunj offers 220 berths for yachts up to 25.0 metres in depths of up to 4.0 metres.

Weather
Diurnal winds along the coast are mostly moderate during the summer months, predominantly from NW and rarely exceeding force 4/5. At night, katabatic winds off the mountains are a feature of some of the harbours along the NE Adriatic coast. During early spring and (especially) autumn conditions can be more unsettled, occasionally accompanied by violent thunderstorms - luckily of short duration - with winds of 30-35 knots or more and vicious, steep seas. In the winter the sudden, violent N wind off the mountains, the bora, is much to be feared, especially along the Velebitski channel. It tends to blow less strongly S of Zadar.
Equally prevalent in winter - although not uncommon in summer - is the scirocco, a S/SE wind that blows up from North Africa, usually in advance of a depression moving E across the Mediterranean. Unlike the bora, the scirocco only occasionally exceeds gale force, but is still a phenomenon to be wary of, especially if on a lee coast.

The town is easily identified by the church steeple on the top of the island on which the town sits. Tribunj is sheltered from the west by the small, circular island of Lukovnik and the long, thin island of Logorun.

While shallow draft local boats use these passages, they are not recommended for yachts, especially with any swell running.
Approach from E and S: there are no dangers there.
Access to the marina is between Logorun island and a long breakwater protecting the marina from S.
Berthing
Tribunj town quay
It is possible for a yacht in settled conditions to moor stern/bows-to the quay on the W side of the island, where depths are around 3.0 metres. However, this position is very exposed to the prevailing NW winds and should only be considered if the weather is very settled.
Water and electricity posts are along the quay.Marinas & Yacht Clubs

Tourism
The old town, built on an island connected to the mainland via a narrow causeway, is delightful if rather touristy. There are some very upmarket restaurants along the waterfront, which reflect the upmarket aspirations of the marina (and, indeed, its berthing charges).
The walk along the coast to Vodice is very pleasant.
